The Future of the Book in the Library
The book is one of the only materials in the library that patrons generally prefer in print, rather than in a digitized, downloadable format. And books are one of the few materials patrons need to come to the library to use and to check out. This paper will explore the book’s future role in libraries and will consider library books in terms of economics, traditions, practicality, and intimacy and emotions.
