Weeding in the Communal Garden
Examines the options and processes for determining ebook collection holdings in libraries. How can librarians determine what ebooks should continue to be held and how much control can they have in changing the holdings? A review of usage patterns, categories of ebooks, and vendor’s policies, and the continued influence of the librarian as a gatekeeper, with a focus on a medium-size, non-residential, consortial, academic library.
